Based on the award-winning novel “Rikyu Ni Tazuneyo” by Kenichi Yamamoto, the film begins with the final days of Rikyu, the tea master with the most profound influence on chanoyu, the Japanese “Way of Tea” tradition, who was ordered to commit ritual suicide by the chancellor Hideyoshi Toyotomi.
