Japanese dance and music ensemble WORLD ORDER has received global attention for their distinct sound and hypnotic movements.
WORLD ORDER is produced by the charismatic Genki Sudo, who previously found fame as a mixed martial arts fighter. He rose to prominence not only through his victories in the sport, but by his stunning ring entrances as well becoming one of the most fascinating all-around performers in his field.
After retiring from martial arts, Sudo’s enthusiasm for entertainment through physical movement was manifested in the creation of WORLD ORDER. With a total of seven dancers, the group performs original choreography matched to songs written by Sudo.
Performances feature tightly controlled and impeccably coordinated movements by the seven suited Japanese men. The monotonous black suits and eerie, robot-like movements are a deliberate creative choice, in efforts to prompt the audience to reflect on contemporary society, working styles, global culture, and images of modern Japan. Sudo’s goal with WORLD ORDER is to mock the stereotype of Japanese salarymen who work like robots everyday. For this reason, WORLD ORDER aim to become a truly global unit from the beginning. This vision continues to be realized through acclaim received from Asia, the United States, Canada and the EU.
