\nA collection of 3 short masterpieces by one of Japan\u2019s top anime directors, Koji Morimoto<\/a><\/span>, who is widely known as a founder of the renowned Studio 4\u2103 and for his works such as Animatrix <\/em>and Genius Party Beyond<\/em>. The famed director will appear in person to introduce the films and to participate in an audience Q&A. <\/strong>

\nMEMORIES: Magnetic Rose<\/strong><\/em>

\nMagnetic Rose<\/em> is the first of the three episodes of MEMORIES<\/em>, a series of short anime films based on the manga by Katsuhiro Otomo (the creator of Akira<\/em>). The film follows the members of the deep space salvage vessel Corona. While performing a salvage mission, the crew encounters an odd distress signal emanating from the Sargasso region, ominously nicknamed \u2018the graveyard of space.\u2019 Soundtrack composed by Yoko Kanno.<\/p>\n

One day, Dr. Franken secretly succeeds in creating the \u2018Noiseman\u2019, a creature that erases music from the airwaves, by feeding it the music fruit as fuel. Since then, the space was dominated by noise, not music. When a pair of kids, Tobio and Reina, find out this secret, they rebel against Noiseman to bring the music back home again. \nDimension Bomb<\/em> is one of the 5 short animated films that make up Genius Party Beyond<\/em>, produced by Studio 4\u2103, which director Morimoto founded in 1986. One day, a boy named Shin who wears a pupa-like mask encounters a girl named Koo. The days spent with Koo, a free spirit unlike any other, start to fill up his life with cherished and unforgettable moments. Yoko Kanno does the voice-over for Koo.
