【2014-Archive】TOKYO GIRLS’ STYLE

★ ABOUT TOKYO GIRLS’ STYLE:

Formed in 2010, TOKYO GIRLS’ STYLE is a dance and vocal group consisting of 5 teenagers, Aya Konishi, Miyu Yamabe, Hitomi Arai, Yuri Nakae and Mei Shoji.

In 2011, only one year after their debut, this young girls’ group (average age 15) held their first Japan tour, and the tickets for Nakano Sun Plaza, Tokyo, were immediately sold out.
Not only their live performances, but also their funk and disco sounds with urban appeal started highly acclaimed, and their second album “Limited Addiction”, released on March, 2012, was nominated for the Record Shop Award. In December of the same year, they made a great success in the live concert in Budokan, one of the prestigious hall in Japan, and set the record (at that time) for the youngest female group to hold a concert in Budokan.

Now they expanded their activities to the world. They released their albums in Taiwan, China and France and had live shows in Singapore and Thailand. In France, their album records the top 10 of the J-pop category.

In 2014, they starred in two films, Count Five To Dream Of You (Directed by Yuki Yamato), and Kotodama – Spiritual Curse, one of the famous horror movie series in Japan. These two films will have a US premiere at Japan Film Festival in San Francisco in July 2014. (with English subtitles)
