Harajuku Fashion Contest

MARUQ, the “Ultimate Kawaii” specialty boutique and the Mezzanine level feature of NEW PEOPLE, is hosting a Harajuku fashion contest! This contest is inspired by five Harajuku street style fashion brands being showcased at J-POP SUMMIT 2015 – one of which will be making its US debut! These brands represent many different styles of Harajuku street fashion and will be the basis of the dress-code for this contest.
MARUQ will also have a booth at the Fashion Area inside Fort Mason Center to showcase & sell the latest from these new brands as well as their staple styles and accessories.

◉Rules and Method Submission;:
(Submission Period: July 13 – July 29 5pm PST)
– Applicants should include a full coordinate shot, and detail pictures of their accessories/makeup/anything that’s relevant to their outfit.
They should provide a brief explanation of their outfit and talk about their inspiration. Small props are allowed.
– Dress-code: We want to see your personal style inspired by these Harajuku street styles. Have fun and coordinate! No need to be head to toe in one brand. Contest will be judged by a combination of style / inspiration by the MARUQ shop staff.
– Email the above to FASHION@J-POP.COM with email title “MARUQ CONTEST” by July 29 5pm PST.
– IMPORTANT: All applicants must be available to be at J-POP SUMMIT 2015 at Fort Mason Center Main Stage on August 9th, 2015. In order to participate as finalists at the contest, applicants will need to purchase the entrance pass to J-POP SUMMIT here.
◉Prizes:
All finalists chosen to take part in the fashion contest at Fort Mason Center will receive a special participation prize from MARUQ. There will be a grand prize for the best-dressed!
◉ Minors:

*Contest participants will be subject to festival photography and videos (official and unofficial), and the result may appear in j-pop.com, J-POP SUMMIT’s future promotional materials, social medias, affiliated sites, and broadcasts of media partners and sponsors, as well as in NEW PEOPLE’s Flickr albums. J-POP SUMMIT does not take responsibility nor action for unofficial photos and images taken in our festival ground.
